Concerned About the Health of Amy Goodman
Whenever I sit to work at my computer my first impulse is always to catch-up on all of the episodes of Democracy Now at www.democracynow.com that I've missed in the past week while I do so. Today I watched three video streams from the corner of my eye starting with the Thursday, September 27th, 2007 show and ending on Monday, October 1st, 2007. Upon the beginning of the last viewed stream from today an unusual detail caught my undivided attention, Amy Goodman, world renowned journalist and the show's host, was speaking from only one side of her mouth and only blinking the eye on the same side of her face. In fact her whole face seemed skewed to one side even though her voice and speaking sounded for the most part normal.
I could only speculate as to the cause of Amy's facial disfigurement, at first believing it might be the result of local anesthesia administered by her dentist but, after considering that she was on the road and that she does her show rather early in the morning, ruled it out as unlikely that she would have even paid an emergency visit to a local dentist just before the show. My next thought was more horrifying, I thought what if she has suffered some kind of a small stroke... no, no, no, no. It can't be, she wouldn't be doing the show but lying in a hospital bed instead. Or, what if she was poisoned by the CIA and doesn't know it yet, maybe... maybe not. Well then, what happened to Amy Goodman?
I checked the Democracy Now Website but saw no mention and then searched google but nothing related turned up. So I decided to post my first blog and here it is.
I hate to think that one day we will loose Amy Goodman but the thought of loosing her sooner rather than later is disheartening especially if it is her own doing. What do I mean by that? Well, what if, even though Amy Goodman is a brilliant journalist, this is only the result of her being clueless and lax about her own health. When will we ever learn?
